Frankie Andrés Martínez Blanco
San Juan, Puerto Rico
As he described his DJ style before the teleportation, I clearly understood how much Frankie Andrés (aka deridàc) missed meticulously scoring a party to achieve the ideal environment for uninhibited dancing.
He says: “Imagine John Travolta circa 1978’s Saturday Night Fever dancing shirtless around a bonfire in Nicaragua after a day of surfing with his 14 friends from Paris. That’s the energy I am always aspiring for.”.
After 13 long years in the mainland, he’s grateful the quarantine caught him while he was in Puerto Rico, during a two-month leave of absence from his job in San Francisco, to run a political campaign on the island. The tropical setting has lent him a peaceful counterbalance to the chaos and isolation we all are experiencing.
